Sprucing up your home on a budget
SUMMERFIELD — So you want to spruce up your home this fall without spending a ton of money? Join the club.
Nancy McKee is here to help.
"When I do design consultations, my philosophy has always been there's not much art or talent involved in helping somebody buy all new things," McKee said. "That's pretty easy if you have the money. I like to use what people have. The things that mean a lot to them."
But if you're also in the hunt for new home accessories, McKee offers that, too.
Her store, Total Bliss, sells home furnishings items such as Beatrice Ball kitchenware and hand-painted wine glasses by Greensboro artists.
She also sells candles, family board games, seasonal decorations, Lampe Berger lamps, chairs, chests, mirrors, wreaths and oil paintings.
"No one really has the storage room or the money to buy all these new things for every season," said McKee, who moved her store from Lake Norman to Summerfield over the Labor Day weekend. "So we show them how they could add new candles, add some ribbon, do something different with their centerpiece or displaying their plates. Small things that make it feel new."
Total Bliss, which shares retail space with Floral Home Decor, is at 4545 U.S. 220 at the intersection with N.C. 150 in the Summerfield Shopping Center.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
You can also print a 20-percent-off coupon good toward anything in the store at www.totalblissonline.com. For more information, call 202-4234.
