Recap.
Monday, May 30, 2011 at 07:00AM I know! I still haven't told you about my trip to France! I can't imagine where to begin...but I'll try.
Mom and I (and two of Nancy's lovely friends) visited France and Italy for two weeks earlier this month. We spent our first 3 nights in Paris. We traveled throughout the city but my favorite area was probably Montmartre. It was late evening and the streets were crowded but I was still able to see Sacre Coeur (I even saw a portion of Mass!) I had a delicious salad in one of the town squares (I've never said "delicious" and "salad" in the same sentence before this moment. France has the most amazing dressing though. And no, it's not orange.)

We visited countless markets around France. After leaving Paris, we headed toward St. Remy in the Provence region. St. Remy is small and perfect. The town is a large roundabout, with smaller streets and alleys lined with shops and cafes in the center. Below is a view from our hotel.

From St. Remy, we drove further south toward Antibes, in the French Riviera. We had an apartment there for one week, allowing us to take day trips to places like VilleFranche, Nice, Grasse, Cannes, Monaco, St. Paul de Vence and...eventually...Italy! Below is a street in the beautiful St. Paul de Vence.

Though we stayed overnight in Santa Margherita, our destination was Portofino. Becuase there's is NO parking (I saw 5 spaces), the best way to travel to and from the city is by ferry. This is the view as the ferry docked.

It was an amazing trip. Truly unbelieveable. If you have questions or want to hear Nancy talk for an hour, ask us!
