Color 2011 - Peapod

Welcome to the second day of Pantone goodness! Today's color is the only of the bunch that contains hints of green and has (without a doubt) the sweetest name. In researching this color, I was struck by how well it works with other, equally bright shades.

The white walls and subtle rug balance the peapod sofa and brightly patterned fauteuil chairs in the photo above. Lacquered accents contrast the warm wood tones, creating a soft, liveable space. Below, an accent wall is painted in the color. It serves to break up the blue and white scheme of the room, assuring guests that residents don't take themselves too seriously.

The room seen above features textured wallpaper in a peapod shade which, when coupled with the bold setee and vibrant (honeysuckle!) curtains, subdues the palette. The image below proves the color's chameleon nature. Used on walls, moulding and cabinetry and combined with antiques and heirooms, peapod appears soft with an almost aged European quality.

Finally, collections of milk glass provide a perfect example of peapod.
