Missing Louise MacIntosh.....

Earlier this year I lost a wonderful friend.  She had colon cancer that was discovered on her first routine "after-fifty" colonoscopy.  Actually, it's odd that I say..."I lost..." because the loss applies to so many people. She was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt.  She was the kind of friend that you knew you could count on; she was the same everytime you saw her; you knew where she stood.  Her family came first.  She loved her dog Jasmine.  She was a Duke fan.  She loved hummingbirds. It was her idea that five of us have lunch together every Tuesday for a decade. She volunteered at Women's Hospital for 20+ years, holding the babies, knitting caps and blankets. The beautiful metal bench pictured above was placed at the hospital in her honor and her smock was retired and framed.  I miss her...we all do...she was brave and unselfish.  Think of her if you get to enjoy this peaceful courtyard and when you see a hummingbird.........
