Live entertainment in a car near you !.......or How to ride 2000 miles with RLS !

Many of you have read before that I am a victim of the "jimmy legs" as Kramer calls it  (or Restless Leg Syndrome). So, when I undertook a 2000 mile vacation in a conversion van, I had to immediately go and have my head examined.  I armed myself with a full-to-the-brim bottle of Requip and hit the road (not like Amelia Bedelia).  I did okay!  I spaced out those miracle pills so I was in a continuous state of neurological bliss, and, with the occasional nap, I really did do okay!

My fellow passengers grew weary of the road and sought entertainment.  All three feigned car sickness and suggested that I read to them (aka books on tape-style) since I was well-medicated against any and all forms of illness.  We chose "The Devil in the White City" by Eric Larson as it had been recommended to us by very trustworthy people. I started out to read the 400-pager with no hope at all of finishing it and we were soon all hooked.  It was very well-written and intriguing and we worked the Chicago setting into our itinerary and "lived it as we read it"!  I recommend it to any and all.....we learned a lot of history while being thoroughly entertained!  I was too distracted to have "the jimmies" I guess!  Whatever works, huh.....?
