Favorite Daughter Leaves the Nest

Okay, ONLY daughter......but she would still be my favorite if I had twenty others!  The family calls her our "old soul" because she has seemed wiser than the rest of us since birth!  Anyway, this wasn't her first flight from the nest so I didn't have to experience that initial heart-wrenching we parents all dread.  She's off on an important adventure, "College Apartment 101".  With two other fledglings (spell check alert), she has thoughtfully and very creatively brought class and charm to four white walls!  All three glow with unique personal style and I just love being around them to try and "absorb" the rays.  I am past the "empty nest angst" now and onto eager anticipation and enjoyment of each new twist and turn of her future !  It really is exciting.......

Now I can't say that I would feel that way if she were more than a few miles from the nest........I'm only able to embrace change if it's not too much change!  It's much easier to enjoy her new adventure if I can drive over there and insert myself right into it!  Whew! I feel better now that I came clean with you. Bet you thought I was very enlightened there for a brief moment!  Relax, I'm not !
